
Pineville senior pitcher Chatman Taylor comes out of her wind-up to deliver a pitch during Monday night’s game against North Laurel. Taylor allowed just four earned runs on eight hits to the Lady Jags. Unfortunately the Lady Mountain Lions were no-hit and suffered a 10-0 loss in the opening round of the 13th Region tournament at Corbin.
North’s Megan Baldwin pitched a no-hitter while striking out ten and walking one to earn the win for the Lady Jaguars.
Pineville’s Chatman Taylor didn’t allow an earned run until the bottom of the fifth inning. She held North scoreless in the first and third, but they put the game away with five runs in the fifth.
Taylor finished with allowing four earned runs on eight hits over four-plus innings. She struck out one and didn’t walk a batter.
Megan Taylor and Sidney Herrell each had two hits to lead the Lady Jags.
Victoria Knuckles walked leading off the game for Pineville and Taylor reached on an error in the fourth for the Lady Lions only other base runner.
Pineville ends the season with a record of 7-8.
North Laurel (29-9) advances to Wednesday’s semifinals where they’ll take on Harlan County (15-9) at 6 p.m.
