HARROGATE, Tenn. — A motorcycle driver was killed over the holiday weekend in a head-on collision with a pickup truck driven by a Kentucky man on State Highway 63.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) identified the victim as James H. White, 57, of Booneville, Mississippi.

According to the police report, White was driving a 2002 Yamaha Roy RSY motorcycle west on Highway 63 around 8 a.m. on Sunday, as a 2003 Dodge LL pickup truck driven by Bobby L. Heck, 60, of Harlan, Ky., was traveling east.

Authorities concluded the truck then crossed the center line and hit White’s motorcycle head-on, killing him instantly.

Heck was also injured in the crash, but the severity of his injuries are unknown at this time.

The highway patrol stated that criminal charges are currently pending.
