He was born March 26, 1929 at Kettle Island. A son of the late Robert and Bertha Elliott Lasley. He was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church, and a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Frances Jo Ann Brock Lasley.
Survivors include his wife of 35 yrs: LaVera Jeffreys Ausmus Lasley; his children: Gregory Stephan (Vivian) Lasley, Pamela Lee Lasley (Jeffrey Lowell) Whitehead, Timothy Brent (Teresa Ann) Lasley; his stepsons: Dr. J.C. (Jackie) Ausmus III, Clifford Jeffreys (Sarah) Ausmus, Sr.; sisters: Willa Dean (Jack) Johnson, Barbara Sue (Bob) Hoskins; grandchildren: Alesa Stephan Jo Ann Lasley (Brandon)Hawkins, Keishia Bobbi Nicole Lasley, Jessica Florence (Trae) Winkler, Meaghan Jo Ann Whitehead, Timothy Brent Lasley II; step grandchildren: Sarah Jeffreys Ausmus, Clifford Jeffreys Ausmus, Jr., Isaac Martin Slusher Ausmus, J.C. Ausmus IV, Shawn Partin; great granddaughter: Emma Jeffrey Winkler.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matthew Robbins presiding. Music by: Mickey Wilder, Vernon Collett, Jr., and Alesa Stephan Hawkins. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Middlesboro Cemetery, with full military honors given by the American Legion Dewey Guy Post #14. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Creech Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mill Creek Christian Academy 4776 Highway 221 Stoney Fork, KY 40988.
