CUBBAGE — A local man was arrested on Thursday for manufacturing methamphetamine, marking the fourth meth-related arrest made in Bell County this week.

According to Bell County Sheriff Bruce Bennett, 28-year-old Garrett Matthew Buell was arrested at his home early Thursday morning by Bell County Deputy Doug Jordan.

Buell was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, as a first offense, and possession of marijuana.

Deputies B.J. Brock and Doug Jordan are leading the investigation; officers Shane Stewart, Jimmy Stewart, Carl Frith, and K-9 Canto assisted with the arrest.

Buell is currently awaiting arraignment in the Bell County Detention Center.

An arrest is an accusation only. Those arrested are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

And yet we have local judges who think they're in the social services business rather than a member of the judiciary. Why is that?

I have family members in Middle Tennessee who are ashamed to come back home anymore because of the local drug problem. It's getting way out of hand! And I totally agree with Myrtle Willy! America needs to wake up to this problem! I recently taught at an Alternative School. The kids were so addictive to drugs, they couldn't keep their minds on anything but getting back home to their drugs! It was so sad! But the kids bragged about their drug use...even to the teachers! I finally told them that they were going to be in very big trouble with me if they said one more word about drugs! I told them that I didn't want to hear about it! Drugs are ruining our youth and will someday be the death of this Nation if we don't wake up and do something about it!
