Virgil D. Durham, 26, was sentenced in Bell County circuit court after he pleaded guilty to amend the charge from first degree to second degree assault.
Durham's case stems from an incident that occurred on or about May 23, 2004, in which he stabbed Larry D. Lawson with a knife in the abdomen, causing serious injury.
