LOG MOUNTAIN — In celebration and dedication of Bell Central’s recently-renovated library, staff members organized a literacy event to help spotlight the importance of a library within the school community. The open house event took place on Thursday afternoon, giving parents the opportunity to observe the school’s new surroundings, and view the many creative and educational displays — created mainly by Bell Central students — that blanketed the school’s inviting hallways.
Through fundraisers and money provided by the school, Bell Central’s library now has a story stage area (complete with a “Where The Wild Things Are” inspired mural), cafe style tables and chairs, new carpet, bean bags, new bookcases and furniture, and fresh paint. Pictured is Jack Ball, children’s librarian at the Pineville-Bell County Public Library, reading a story to Bell Central students yesterday as part of the literacy event in BCSC’s newly renovated reading area in the library.
