Aaron Watkins of The First Tee Pine Mountain has been selected to play in the fourth-annual Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach presented by Nature Valley, Labor Day weekend. Watkins joins a field of 77 other junior golfers who will play alongside 78 Champions Tour professionals in the tournament, an official Champions Tour event.
Aaron, 18, is a Senior at Cawood High School and has been a valued member of The First Tee Pine Mountain since June, 2002. Aaron has played in a lot of local, regional and national tournaments and is a member of his school’s golf team.
The First Tee hosted a Selection Process to determine 60 junior spots, July 17 - 25, at Kansas State University and Colbert Hills Golf Course. The field will consist of participants from The First Tee facilities worldwide and will recognize participants for their playing ability and life skills knowledge. The remaining junior spots will be filled by ten junior golfers who attended regional qualifiers on the East and West coasts, and eight exemptions to junior golfers representing the Monterey Peninsula Foundation.
