Submission for the Daily News Photo Contest ended on Monday. After an hour, the judges decided the best overall picture goes to Michaela Howard for her photo of the dog and little boy.

This photo by Danny Vaughn was the runner-up in the best overall category. The picture won the best black-and-white photo. First place in the “landscape” category went to Brandon Howard for his photo of the snow-capped trees. The best “people” photo went to Michaela Howard for her photo the children at the beach. The best open photo was awarded to Ronnie G. Partin for his photo of the fireworks.
