Malichi to perform free concert at fall festival

Malachi, a local contemporary Christian music group, will be performing an outdoor concert on Saturday, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. as part of the local fall festival.

The event will take place at the Salvation Army parking area on Lothbury and 8th street.

Performing first will be special guest guitarist and vocalist Jamie Capps.

Malachi will perform at 5:30 p.m.

Malachi is comprised of members Eddie Harrell, Rick Wylie, Ben Sharp and Don Reynolds. They have been performing Christian music for many years in a variety of venues from churches to small and large festivals.

Malachi performs every Thursday at 8 p.m. at a local Crossroads, a christian coffeehouse, on Cumberland Ave. and 28th street. This weekly event is sponsored by the Middlesboro United Covenant Methodist Church. It is free of charge.

Food and drinks are provided as well as child care, which is also free of charge.

Malachi has recorded several music projects. The group is in the process of completing its third recording project. Much of this material will be performed at the concert on Saturday.

Everyone is welcome to bring a chair and enjoy the concert.
