Virginia Lucile Chipman, 88 of London, KY., passed away Saturday Oct. 20, 2012 at the Beech Tree Manor Nursing Facility in Jellico, Tenn. She was born May 3, 1924 at Falconer, NY, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Ragnhild Cheney. She was a retired registered nurse and instructor of nursing for the state of Tennessee. She was active in ALANON and AMI (Alliace for the Mentally Ill). She was a member of the Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Tenn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Chipman, and infant daughter, Jayne L. Chipman.

Survivors include: daughter, Cheryl A. Robbins of Pineville; son, Bradley R. Chipman of Johnson City, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kenneth W. Brown, Darryl E. Brown, Victoria E. Robbins, and Sheryl (Robbie) Partin; three great grandchildren, Makena, Deokon and Kordell; brother Brian L. Cheney of Frewsburg, N.Y.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts are suggested to ALANON and Knox AMI.
