Ralph Wayne Johnson, 79 of Tazewell, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, October 24, at the home of his sister, surrounded by his loving daughters. He was born October 22, 1933 in Alva, Ky., the son of the late James and Madge Ramsey Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Susan Johnson Green and Carmela Fudoli Johnson who were the mothers of his 6 children. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Max and Zane Johnson and 1 sister, Marion Miracle. Ralph was a dedicated family man who loved and adored his children. He was a true friend to everyone who knew him.

He is survived by the following members of his family: 6 children, Jimmy (Joan) Green, Bonnie (Doyle) Rice, Jackie (Danny) Figueroa, Carla (Doug) Brown, Sharon (Jerry) Leach and Alicia (Keith) Mason; brother, Jerry Johnson; sisters, Gloria Walters and Sharon Hoskins; current wife, Carol Tackett; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The Johnson Family was blessed beyond measure when God let Ralph be a part of their large family. Our loss was Heaven’s gain.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Garner, Rev. Theo Messer and Mr. Danny Figueroa presiding.

Music will be provided by Jann Rose Garner.

Interment will follow in the Alva Memorial Gardens at Blackstar, Ky.

Pallbearers will be his grandson and sons-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, at the Creech Funeral Home.
