ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Lincoln Memorial University women’s soccer team earned the No.6 seed for the 2012 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championship and they are set to square off against No.3 Tusculum College in the opening round of the tournament Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Greeneville, Tenn. League officials released the pairings and seeding for the SAC Championship at the conclusion of the regular-season schedule on Saturday evening.

The Lady Railsplitters grabbed the No.6 seed following a regular-season mark of 7-6-2 and a 3-4-2 record in the South Atlantic Conference. Lincoln Memorial capped the regular-season on Saturday afternoon with a 0-0 draw at Newberry College. The Lady Railsplitters head into the tournament with a 2-1-1 mark over their previous four contests.

LMU and Tusculum met on Oct. 10 for their regular-season match up, with the Pioneers grabbing a 3-2 win over the Lady Railsplitters at the LMU Soccer Complex. LMU held the lead at the end of the first half but Tusculum rallied with three-consecutive goals to capture the victory in that affair.

The Pioneers concluded the regular-season with an 11-3-2 record and a 6-2-1 mark in conference play. Tusculum comes into the match riding a two-game losing streak.

Lenoir-Rhyne will be the top seed after wrapping up a perfect conference season on Saturday with a win over Anderson. The SAC regular-season champion Bears, who were ranked 11th in the latest NSCAA national poll, went unbeaten in league play for the second-straight year and have won 19-consecutive regular-season conference matches.

Wingate — winners of 10-straight matches — secured the event’s No. 2 seed on Saturday by defeating Tusculum, 3-2. The Bulldogs, who won last season’s Food Lion SAC Women’s Soccer Championship, will be pitted against seventh-seeded Newberry in the quarterfinal round.

Catawba beat Brevard 3-1 on Saturday, clinching the bracket’s No. 4 seed and home-field advantage for the quarterfinal round. The Indians will host fifth-seeded Anderson on Wednesday.

Catawba is 12-6 overall, while AU went 7-6-3 in the regular season.

The Lady Railsplitters are set to travel to Tusculum for the quarterfinals of the 2012 SAC Championship on Wednesday. That match is scheduled to tip at 7 p.m. With a win in that contest, LMU would advance to the semifinals of the SAC Championship, set to be played on Nov. 2 in Rock Hill, S.C.
