A Middlesboro man has been arrested for copper theft. Justin Shackleford, 25, was arrested by officers from the Middlesboro Police Department and charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500.

According to the arrest citation, Shackleford allegedly removed $700 worth of copper and welding equipment from a residential garage. Shackleford then allegedly burned the copper wire and sold it, copper elbows and pipes to Sam’s Heavy Equipment.

The citation also stated Shackleford allegedly gave some of the welding wire to his brother. Shackleford remains in custody at the Bell County Detention Center.

In other police news, a Pineville woman was arrested by Kenny Vanover of the MPD on possession charges. Alicia Brock, 25, was arrested on the charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

According to the arrest citation, Brock was allegedly spotted standing at Quality Car Wash with unsteady feet. The citation stated she appeared to be under the influence and was standing along the side of U.S. 25E.

After contact was made by Vanover, a pill was found inside a cellophane bag allegedly on Brock.. The pill was identified as Oxycodone. Brock was also charged with public intoxication.
