Vernon Halcomb, Sr., 70 of Gibson Station, VA., passed away Thursday Nov. 29, 2012 at the Ft. Sanders Hospital in Knoxville, TN. He was born March 12, 1942 at Kay Jay, Ky., a son of the late Vernon Halcomb, Sr. and Viola L. Miller Halcomb. He was a member of the Binghamtown Baptist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Joyce Halcomb of Gibson Station; 2 sons, Mark (Lisa) Halcomb of Harrogate, Tenn. and Michael (Robin) Halcomb of Big Stone Gap, Va.; and 3 grandchildren, Ian Alexander Halcomb, Sarah Elizabeth Halcomb and Kaycee Cheree Halcomb.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. William Boyd Bingham and Lonnie Brooks presiding. Music will be by Thomasa Risner. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Creech Funeral Home.
