CORBIN — A wreck sent two people to the hospital along KY 3041 — the Corbin bypass — on Monday, according to Kentucky State Police.

KSP Post 10 Harlan received the call of a three-vehicle collision on Corbin bypass. The preliminary investigation indicated a 17-year-old juvenile female from Whitley County was operating a Dodge Stratus traveling east on KY 3041. The juvenile lost control of the vehicle and crossed the center line, striking a Ford Contour nearly head-on.

The Ford was operated by operated by Dwayne Wilder.

Archie Miller was also traveling west in a Toyota Echo behind Wilder. Miller tried to avoid the collision, but was unable to and struck the Ford Contour.

The juvenile was transported to Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin for initial care and then transported to University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Archie Miller was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center by his family for treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

No alcohol or drugs were suspected in the investigation. The 17-year-old was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

The collision closed the Corbin highway for nearly two hours as officers investigated the crash.

Trooper Jason Partin is continuing his investigation.
