Clayton Dilbeck, 71 of Middlesboro, passed away Thursday January 10, 2013 at the U.T. Medical Center. He was born October 25, 1941 at Middlesboro, a son of the late Arthur Dilbeck and Bertha Wilder Ward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: James Marsee and Kenneth Ward; and 2 sisters: Betty Smith and Georgia Patterson.
Survivors include: 2 sons: Chris Dilbeck and T.J. Dilbeck both of Middlesboro; 1 daughter: Rebecca (Darrell) Smith of Middlesboro; 2 brothers: Mikel (Eva) Ward of Pineville and Alvin King of Middlesboro; 2 sisters: Linda Walker and special friend, Mike Kidwell and Dora (Jimmy) Witt of Middlesboro; grandchildren: Shea Mullins, Caiden Dilbeck, Landon Smith and step granddaughter: Tia Smith all of Middlesboro; 4 special nieces: Ashley Skidmore and Kendra Redmond (both of Middlesboro), Monica Arnold and Tasha Walker (both of Knoxville, Tenn.); special friend: Olen Beck and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Woody Gilbert and Jeremy King presided. Music was provided by James Partin. Interment will follow at the Ward Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Wesley Skidmore, David Mayes, Odie Mayes, Robert Mullins, Larry Branson, Casey Marlow, Brian Redmond and Elige Nichols. The family received friends from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Creech Funeral Home.
