William “Bill” Shackelford, 72, of Middlesboro, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, February 16, at the Middlesboro ARH. He was born January 13, 1941 in Pineville, KY, the son of the late Tom and Bessie Mae Helton Shackelford. He was a loving husband and a devoted dad and grandpa. He loved God, the outdoors and his family. He believed in the Holiness Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Leona Sue Herzog.
He is survived by the following members of his family: wife: Wanda Shackelford of Middlesboro; 3 sons: Scott (Bonnie) Shackelford, William Jr. Shackelford and David Shackelford all of Middlesboro; 3 daughters: Tammy (Charlie) Miler of Defiance, OH, Lisa Shackelford of Defiance, OH and Jennifer Shackelford of Middlesboro; grandchildren: Misty Herzog, Bobby Joe Shackelford, Heather Shackelford, Marvin, Charlena and John Shackelford, Hako Miler, Shana, Mureno, Codi and Tasha Shackelford; great grandchildren: Ethan, Brandon, Aleena, Bethany, Chelsee, Alexus, Brittney, Jacob and Lucas; very special friend: Joann Thompson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 22, at the Church of God Mountain Assembly in Middlesboro, with the Rev. Mike Padgett and Rev. Ralph Tennyson presiding. Music will be provided by Teresa Saylor. Interment will follow in the Shackelford Family Cemetery in Middlesboro. His sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friend from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, at the Church of God Mountain Assembly in Middlesboro. Online condolences and guestbook are available at www.creechfh.com
