Billy James Robbins, born March 16, 1926, in Highsplint, died on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012.

He was a member of Brownies Creek Primitive Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II and had retired from Union Carbide.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances H. Robbins; granddaughter, Jamie Robbins; parents, Joe Houston Calvin and Vesta Lee Robbins; sister, Alice Marie Atchley; brother, Joe Lee Robbins.

Survivors include his children, Jim Robbins and wife Pat, Joyce Miller and husband Danny, Barbara Barnes, Calvin Robbins and wife Robin, and Jerry Robbins; sisters, Dora Risner, Phyllis Robbins; and his brother Elder John E. Robbins and his wife Judy. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Katie Guist, Andy Robbins, Tina Marvel, Ryan Jackson, Mandy Miller, Joshua Barnes, Joy Barnes, Jared Barnes, Teresa Rogers, William Robbins, Dan Miller; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the chapel officiated by his pastor and brother, Elder John E. Robbins.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Highland South Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jim Robbins, Calvin Robbins, Andy Robbins, William Robbins, Jason Rogers and Ryan Jackson.
