Rutha Susan Pressnell, age 47, born Nov. 23, 1964, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012.

Rutha professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Lone Holly Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clayton and Effie Hatfield and Isaac and Rutha Taylor; and one brother-in-law, Jimmy Pressnell.

Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Jeff Pressnell; son, Joshua Pressnell; mother and father, the Rev. Horace Paul and Barbara Taylor; brother, John Taylor and wife, Frances and niece and nephews; sister, Debbrah Cannon and niece, Amber Cannon; mother and father-in-law, the Rev. Loy and Myrtle Pressnell; sister-in-law and husband, Jennifer and Mitchell Maples, and nephew, Mitch Maples Jr.; brother-in-law, Stanley Pressnell; niece and husband, Hope and Jim Ervin; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family received friends from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell.

Funeral service were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell with the Rev. Tim Cosby, the Rev. Terry Thomas and the Rev. Larry McNally officiating. Eulogy was delivered by David and Trish Snow. Music was by True Gospel, Gabriel Love and Sarah Carmon.

Burial followed in the Baldwin-Duncan Cemetery, with Owen Upton, David Snow, Rick Atkins, Allen Holt, Rodney Elliot and Greg Raley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were fellow members of the Lone Holly Baptist Church.

Coffey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
