Dewey Dearl Brummett, a long time resident of Norwood, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Octoer 21, 2012 at the age of 69. He was born in Cardinal, Ky. to the late Dewey and Nancy Hensley Brummett.
He was a faith-filled member of the Zion Baptist Church in Dry Ridge, Ky. and often visited the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Elmwood, Ohio. He was an Honorably Discharged service veteran of the United States Air Force and a contributing member of the American Legion Post 400, Topeka, KS. He will always be remembered as a peaceful and caring man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Kentucky Wildcats basketball and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Fred Brown and brother-in-law, Harvey Clark.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; his children, John and Nancy Brummett, Reidsville, N.C.; Melissa and David Lynch, Richmond, Va. and Keith and Christa Brummett, Reidsville, N.C.; grandchildren, Jacob, Mary and Ryan Lynch and Keith Brummett, Jr.; beloved brothers and sisters, Evelyn Clark, Liberty, MO; Gretchel and Ray Christian, Norwood, OH; Brenda and Bill Ebel, Fairfield, OH; Teddy Wayne and Kathy Brummett, Emmett, KS and Eddie Dane and Beth Brummett, Norwood, OH. He will be dearly missed as well by many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends throughout the country.
Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackmont Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Howard. Burial will be in the Upland Cemetery at Hulen with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family received friends in Ohio at Vorhis and Ryan Funeral Home in Norwood on Wednesday from 6 until 9 p.m.
