Gerald E. Cornelius, 73, of Fort Gratiot, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at the Port Huron Hospital following a long illness. He was born in Pineville and had lived in Michigan most of his life. Gerald retired from Ford Motor Company as a machine repairman in 2008.
He was a very generous man who loved, and was devoted to his family. He was a member of the East Pineville Baptist Church in Pineville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Matt and Mable Cornelius and 1 Sister: Joyce Ann Johnson.
He is survived by the following members of his family:
Barbara A. Darrengowski-Cornelius of Fort Gratiot, Michigan
Sons: Robert (Penny) Cornelius, Ronald Cornelius and Gerald Cornelius and 5 Grandchildren of Port Huron, Michigan.
Sisters: Kitty Nelson, Lena (Harold) Harbin and Barbara (Chuck) Greene.
Brother: Wayne Cornelius
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 29, at the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home, in Port Huron, Michigan. Visitation will be from 2 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday October 28, at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be held at the East Pineville Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 31, at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Shelby Money presiding.
