Mrs. Parsetta Branscomb Braden, 86 of Speedwell, Tenn., was born Dec. 5, 1925, passed away Nov. 15, 2012 at Lafollette Hospital. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Braden, whom she married Dec. 23, 1964 and who passed away July 16, 2001; parents Roscoe (Bud) and Sarah Branscomb; brothers, James Henry, Floyd, Abraham and Issacc Branscomb; sisters, Mossie Jane and Vestina Branscomb.

She is survived by her sisters, Carrie and Dorothy Branscomb of Speedwell, Tenn.; brother, William (Cedilla) Branscomb; sister-in-law, Helen Ruth Branscomb of Speedwell and Cleo (Lonnie) Marshall of Dayton, Ohio; step-children, Evelyn Lay, Ruth (Larry) Lay, LeRoy (Crystal) Braden, Mildred (Dale) Tressler and James “Butch” (Debby) Braden; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and 1 son-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Branscomb, Elder Larry Anderson officiating.

Singers will be the Pleasant Hill Singers. Burial will follow in the Braden cemetery at Blue Springs with Merlin Branscomb, Scotty and Benji Johnson, Scotty and Gerald lay, Steven Branscomb and Dorsey Pierce serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Rd., Knoxville, Tennessee 37909.
