Nelia M. Hurst, age 89 of Pineville, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 in the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born in Bell County on March 26, 1923 to the late John W. Hurley and Lovella Miracle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Hurst, Sr.; sons, James H. Hurst and Gary R. Hurst; granddaughter, Virginia (Sissy) Hurst; and sister, Jane Siler.

She is survived by her sons, Clifford Hurst, Jr. (Alma), Ellis W. Hurst (Janice), Phillip Hurst (Lisa); daughter, Peggy Cox (Neil); twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great- granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Burial will be in the Hurst Cemetery at Page Cut-Off. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
