Bonnie Long Surber, 89, of Rose Hill, Virginia passed away Tuesday (November 27, 2012) at her residence.

Bonnie was a member of Morgan Memorial United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Rose Hill Rebekah Lodge #88, Cumberland Chapter 170 of the Order of Eastern Star, and the Pioneer Homemakers Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lebert Surber; seven brothers; one sister; grandson, Jerry Wayne Surber; and daughter-in-law, Patsy Surber.

She is survived by: children, Ronnie Surber and companion, Shirley Wilson of Jonesville, VA, Charles Surber (Mary) of Germantown, MD, Judy Surber of Rose Hill, VA, Glenn Surber (Nancy) of Frankfort, IN, Thomas Surber of Oliver Springs, TN; 6 grandchildren, Angela Surber, Rhonda Walker, Carrie Wheeler, Sharon S. Jerrell, Kathy Surber, and Jerry D. Surber; 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; three sisters-in-law, Josephine Long, Jessie Bea Long and Eula Crockett; special nieces, Jeanette Prater and Pauline Corbett; and ppecial caregivers of Mountain Region Home health.

Calling hours will be 5 – 7 p.m. Saturday (December 1, 2012) at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Rose Hill.

Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Norman Clark and Rev. Robert Charles Long officiating.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Sunday (December 2, 2012) at the Cheek cemetery in Rose Hill.

Those attending the graveside are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to time of service.
