Chesney Lynn Gray, age 50, Middlesboro, KY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, December 22, 2012 after battling a long illness. She was born September 28, 1962 in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of Verlan and Faye Gray. She accepted Christ into her heart at a young age and believed in the Baptist faith. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Hazel and Milford Gray, Lonnie and Jane Treece and one brother, Andy Gray.
She is survived by her children, Steven Ryan Lambert and Andrew Lee Gray; her parents, Verlan and Faye Gray, one brother, Richard (Shirley) Gray; two sisters, Rhonda (Everette) Farmer, and Elizabeth (Gary) Holbrook; special friends, Delores, Mike and David Kelly; and many nieces, nephews, great nephews and host of special friends.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. William Boyd Bingham, III and Boyd Bingham, IV officiating. Music will be provided by Jane Cox and Alva Cunningham. Pallbearers will be Chris Gray, Eric Gray, Zachariah Holbrook, Geremiah Holbrook, Gary Holbrook and David Kelly. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel. Condolences to the family may be made to Gateway Christian School.
