Bethel “Bessie” Carmack, age 68 of Harrogate, TN. He went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. He was born July 17, 1944, the son of the late Fred and Augustine (Carroll) Carmack. He worked and retired from Straight Creek Mining. He was a member at Greasy Creek Baptist Church (White Church).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a bothers, Glenous and Nolan Carmack and a sister, Linda (Carmack) Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Bernice (Jones) Carmack of Harrogate, TN and his son, William Scott Carmack of Harrogate, TN; brothers, H.A. (Janet) Carmack of Pineville, KY, Norman (Cheryl) Carmack of Pineville, KY, sister, Freda (Bob) Mays of Williamsburg, KY, brother-in-law, Johnny (Betty) Jones of Pineville, KY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Special recognition to Dr. Marie Hortillosa, a good MD, friend and neighbor.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Rev. Luther Collett and Rev. Paul Gibson. Interment will be at Harrogate Cemetery, Harrogate TN. Pallbearers will be Aldan Dean, Herman Lambdin, Greg Estes, Neil Barry, VI, Ike Rhodes, Jamie Webb, William Allen and John Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Clint Dorian and Dr. Robert Christopher Hancock.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Carmack family. Light a virtual candle and sign the guestbook at www.arnettsteele.com.
