Billy Ray Lawson, age 69, a resident of Arjay, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at his home. He was the son of the late Clarence Edward and Amanda Ellen Lawson and the husband of the late Shirley Lingar Lawson. Mr. Lawson was a Coal Miner.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is also preceded in death by a grandchild, Alena Taylor.

Mr. Lawson is survived by the following members of his family: 4 sons, Billy Ray Lawson Jr. and wife Donna, Charlie Edward Lawson and wife Malinda, Larry Dean Lawson and L.J. Lawson; 4 daughters, Dreama Wilder and husband Eugene, Gilliana Mills, Sandra D. Richardson and Heather Green ;and a brother, Junior Lawson; and a host of other grandchildren and great grandchildren left to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Billy Ray Lawson will be conducted in the chapel of the Brooks Durham Funeral Home on Tuesday February 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Timothy Goins and Rev. Dale Slusher officiating. Interment will be in the Bain Cemetery at Fourmile. Music will be provided by the HTC Praise Team. Pallbearers will be Charlie Lawson, Larry Lawson, Tad Lewis, Eugene Wilder, Joey Saylor, L. J. Lawson and Charlie Lawson Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be grandson Billy Ray Lawson III who serves in the United States Marines in Japan and Faithful Childhood Friend, Clifford Jones.

The family will receive friends Monday February 18, 2013 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Brooks Durham Funeral Home which is honored to be serving the Lawson family.
