Ronnie “Duke” Paul Hembree, age 52, Ewing, VA passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Lee Regional Medical Center, Pennington Gap, VA. He was born June 8, 1960 in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Walter Homer and Mary Sue Beason Hembree, who precedes him in death.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Ben) Hickman; granddaughters: Victoria and Aubrey Fuson, and Baylee Hickman; brothers: George (Alana) Hembree and Gerald (Essie) Hembree; sisters: Patsy Warf and Joann (David) Booth; aunts: Vina Hembree and Betty Ayers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many special friends.

Funeral service will be 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Gibson Station Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Preston Smith officiating. Music will be provided by Lynette Smith, Jimmy and Adam Barnes. Pallbearers will be Glen Hall, TJ Gallaway, Brett Chadwell, Clint Lambdin, Jimmy Cheek, Jerry Tipton, Roger Sumpter, Will Luttrell, Pete Sumpter, and Clifford Sumpter. Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Hembree Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 12,2013 at Gibson Station Missionary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shumate Funeral Home.
