BULLDOG OF THE GAME
Soares came off the bench to net the game-winning goal for the first goal of his career.
STAT OF THE GAME
Garcia scored the opening goal 34 seconds into the game getting the Bulldogs off on a fast start.
“We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy opponent,” said Edwin Garcia on the Campbellsville Tigers. “It’s never easy coming to a team’s field, but we knew what we needed to do. The team was unbelievable today. Everyone did their job, Jezreel comes off the bench and changed the game completely. He was just at a different level tonight. Scoring the two goals against a top team in the country is great, but winning feels even better. Hopefully, we keep this energy going for upcoming games.”
This was the first time Union played Campbellsville since 2005. The squads tied 1-1 in Barbourville.
