Middlesboro woman arrested on public intoxication
A 30-year-old Middlesboro woman is charged with public intoxication and is being accused of placing a one-year-old child in the bed of a truck in 28 degree weather.
Middlesboro Police Officer Michael Bradley responded to a call on West Cumberland Avenue where he made contact with Tasha Stewart, who was allegedly under the influence.
The citation reports that Stewart was manifestly under the influence of some kind of controlled substance due to continued behavior that was consistent with intoxication.
After a search the officer discovered Stewart to be in possession of suboxone.
An eyewitness also reported that they witnessed a one-year-old in the bed of a pickup truck with Stewart.
She was arrested and charged with public intoxication, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, and endangering the welfare of a minor. Stewart was also served with three outstanding warrants.
Stewart remains in the Bell County Detention Center on a cash bond of $11,164.00.
